Méribel lies at the very ‘heart of The Trois Vallées’ and is an excellent up-market resort for exploring this vast and highly rated ski domain. The overall skiing opportunities are almost mind-blowing, with 189 lifts and 600km of piste in total. Many enthusiasts believe that the 3Vs are the largest linked ski area in the world. Meribel's clusters of charming luxury chalets were originally created by an Englishman (Colonel Peter Lindsay) just before World War II. He is to thank for the splendid wooden Savoyard-style buildings that beautifully complement their Alpine environment.

The main Méribel village area is a quaint-looking, shop-lined street bursting with life and a colourful weekly market. Higher up, Méribel Mottaret is a convenient ski-in, ski-out satellite divided into more down-to-earth apartment blocks and shops. Both offer highly varied and full-on après-ski for the young blood and the more mature chalet guests.

This traditional Savoyard chalet with a superb sun-terrace is a welcome addition to the programme in Méribel. Located in the Musillon area of Méribel, the chalet has a distinct advantage for nightlife seekers, being within a few minutes' walk of Dick’s Tea Bar, the world-renowned watering-hole. Access to the piste is facilitated by the exclusive minibus service mornings and afternoons. The living and dining areas are delightfully furnished with a log-burning stove for those chilly Alpine nights.
